Default Blow-out on the cards at Skilled Stadium

The stage is set for a blow-out as league leaders Geelong take on a depleted Dockers outfit at Skilled Stadium.

Geelong will enter the game in arguably the best form since their record-breaking victory in last year’s Grand Final.

With their crushing victory over Adelaide at AAMI Stadium last week further displaying their dominance over the rest, the Cats are looking more and more untouchable as the season progresses.

Fremantle will enter the match after the retirement of ex-captain and club stalwart, Peter Bell. The 286-game veteran was a member of the Dockers’ initial squad which entered the competition in 1995. Bell was picked up by North Melbourne after only managing two games that year, and ended up attaining what has eluded Fremantle for so long - premiership success.

Bell played in two premiership winning teams before returning to the Dockers to captain the side throughout their most successful years. Bell’s retirement should prove a much needed boost for the ailing Dockers, who have won just two games this season.

The round six clash between Geelong and Fremantle resulted in the closest finish between the two clubs in history. Fremantle had dominated for much of the match with ruckman Aaron Sandilands playing the best game of his career. Matthew Pavlich had the opportunity to win the match with just seconds to spare, but hit the post – resulting in a one-point victory to the Cats.

There are two major differences between that match and the one to be played this weekend. Firstly, Geelong’s ruck stocks will be bolstered with the inclusion of Brad Ottens to counter the dominance of Sandilands. Secondly, the match will be played at Skilled Stadium.

The stark differences between the records of the clubs at the venue is there to be seen. Geelong has been unbeatable at their home ground this year, and has hardly been challenged.

The Dockers have won just 10 per cent of their encounters at Skilled, with their last win coming in 2002.

Fremantle Coach, Mark Harvey, has said that his club will not be easy-beats for the remainder of the season. However, they would have to put in an extraordinary effort to defeat the Cats this weekend.

With Peter Bell calling it a day it is going to leave a big hole in Freos attack from the middy.Bell has been the only ball getter besides Palmer so far this season, its hard to see anyone that will step into his shoes and take the game on like Bell has.

Geelong to break all records this weekend when they stomp on the Freomantle Dockers at Skilled Stadium.

Cats by 100pts+.

P.S
I would love to see Pav***** play team football instead of playing for himself(hungry selfish young man).
