Unhappy West Sydney Celtic - Bad Idea
The AFL is considering branding the West Sydney team as an "Irish" themed club. Thoughts? Me, I think it is a really bad idea. Bringing ethnic and religious issues in to the league is the wrong way to go.

I hate the idea. Dont get me wrong, I have no anti-Irish thing going on - one of my daughters has an Irish name. It is just that ethnically based teams have caused problems everywhere they exist.

the irish rivalry is pretty non existent down under though. You hear about the irish and sons of the irish being somewhat socially segregated in the states but I've never encountered it hear. Doesnt sound like a great idea but i dont think its going to cause race wars like the days of old with the NSL.

You are 100% right Perry, the league would have to be mad to even consider any new club with any racial or religious theme.

Why look to create issues when there are currently non there.
