Why not? They have no quality key defender or a key forward of any quality (Yet) and they lack midfield pace as well as any decent height. I still don't think any of this rebuilding will do them well.

Brownlow: Brock McLean - you're joking arn't you

Anyway i think Hawthorn may finish bottom, you can't just develop young players. Younger teams are more immune to losing tight nip games and when they lose confidence will get crushed

Teams need a balance

Which they have in Smith, Crawford, Vandemberg, Mitchell, Croad and Hodge. I'm not saying they will make the 8 just yet, but they're not going to go backwards. They have many goal kicking options (Williams, Roughead, Franklin and Dixon), which frees Croad to play down back where he is better and solves the CHB problem. Birchall, Osborne, Clarke and Lewis are all underatted and set to become players, and we are still yet to see Xavier Ellis due to school and injury. 11th-9th.

How old was Judd when he picked up the Brownlow. If McLean stays fit for the season, he'll easily average 20-25 touches per game, and have 4-5 tackles. The way he plays grabs peoples eyes...ie Elimination final last year. As for Hawthorn, well it was between them and Collingwood.

What has that got to do with anything?

Well, the Hawthorn part was, and then I scrolled down and saw Boraks post. I just think Mclean started to show very similar form to what Judd showed the year prior to him winning the Brownlow.
