Dees not about to tank ... However, what about the eagles!

Melbourne coach Dean Bailey denies the Demons are aiming to tank their way into a top draft pick by finishing bottom of the AFL ladder.

The cellar-dwelling Dees faced West Coast at the MCG in a clash of the league's bottom two teams.

Now we know Bailey is a man of his word!

after beating West Coast they are now on 3 wins, which means they can afford to win 1 more.

Eagles (on 4 wins) are in must-lose situation. by finishing on 4 wins, they improve their draft selections & bargaining power at trade week. why ruin such advantages? it's time to TANK. i know Worsfold doesn't like the word, but putting players like Kerr away for the season and fielding a team of youngsters is tanking in my book. as a coach, he's doing exactly the right thing. it's up to the AFL to change the rules so this sort of stuff doesn't happen.

Both need best draft picks, both can play better than they have been over recent times, and who can blame them, Carlton are almost top 8 material from good draft picks, if a team is going to finish bottom 5 or 6 may as well finish 15 th or 16th and get good picks.

Dees need to tank until they can tank no more. They are rubbish and do nothing to enhance the AFL.
They are no more than an untidy statistic, like herpes to the medical proffesion.

I do miss a comptetive Dees though.
