Default Grand Final Tickets

So now 'The Mighty Hawks' are in the Grandy my flights have been booked for months yet only one problem no ticket to the show,so how does one go about getting one?
Being from WA and yes I am a member all be it an Interstate member for obvious reasons, which unfortunately entitles you to nothing come the finals.
Being from WA and far removed from what goes on in Melb come finals time,I guess what I want to know is what is the process for ticketing to the general public and when are they on sale?

Just because you live interstate doesnt mean you cant be a full member. I live interstate andhave been afull member for 15 years. only get to 1-2 games a year in melb but if and when my club get into a grand final i will be able to get tickets. if we dont make the GF well i look at it as a donation to my club to help them out. People that arent members and then ask 'oh why cant i get a ticket' ? have only themselves to blame

That's a bit harsh! (some superior type teams have waiting lists you know)
We went over similarly in 2006 and scored tickets 2 days beforehand. some ideas - try contacting anyone who might know anyone from SA and WA. We scored from an Adelaide sponsor who couldn't get flights. Some also had success approaching groups from interstate (but this was a non-Vic final) who might have friends who couldn't make it. Have big $$$ cash on you and check for touts around the MCG. (Be careful it's illegal) One guy walked around with his bare chest painted with offers to swap a kidney for a ticket. He got on the tv news and got a ticket, so weirdo publicity might work.
Even if you don't make it in the gates, the flow over venues are supposed to be pretty good with a more fun and less corporate atmosphere. Just being in Melbourne for the grand final is worth it. Good luck

I meant REALLY superior - like the Eagles. Sorry, got a bit carried away! It's kind of funny though, my daughter relocated to Vic and when she wanted to buy a Hawks jacket this year she had to buy it from Perth. They said it was because of the popularity of Buddy. As you probably know, nearly half the Hawks players come from WA.

There's some rugby league tosser on the thread 'Danepak' boasting about how he doesn't understand AFL and has free tickets to the grand final - try him, or his sister in law.

Did you get tickets? I hope you did, it was a great game. Please tell how you watched the game. Going to the GF in '06 was the best experience in my life!
