Default Finals Ticketing System

I hate the AFL Finals ticketing system.

There is no point being a club member during September!

For finals matches, Tickets are released to MCC & Participating Club Members on the Monday. MCC member can get 1 or 2 visitor passes, club members 0.
Tuesday AFL members who can get 2 visitor passes. Wednesday 9am - public reserved seating. THIS IS THE PART THAT ANNOYS ME. You cannot use your Club Membership to purchase discounted tickets after Tuesday, so if you are a club member and you're going to the game with your mates who are not, you must purchase public reserved seating tickets which therefore deems the membership invalid.

Doesn't make sense to me but i guess thats the way those crazy bastards down at the AFL House like it!

Wait a second ... so all boiled down.

What you are saying is you lose your discount if you wait to buy your tickets with your friends .... on the Wednesday?

AFL deems everybody to be the same Wednesdays ie General Public

Ps Is was really good feedback. You where doing really well until your last sentence.

I'm a Social Club member of St.Kilda so the only real benefit (IMO) is that I get a guaranteed seat if St.Kilda make the Grand Final...which was also the case last year. It still costs money to get the Grand Final ticket obviously, but atleast I'm able to get one.

I purchased my 2010 Qualifying Final ticket a few weeks ago with no problems, and on Monday I purchased my Preliminary Final ticket with no problems. Usually I meet my mates somewhere at halftime anyway so for me it's no big deal. I will say that the prices for prime/premium seating though are absolutely ridiculous...but I will pay it if we make a Grand Final .

I lined up this morning at my local ticketek agency at 7am and the best seat I could get was 3rd row on the top level of the southern stand!!

This is the problem I have.. I should've been able to buy premium seats with visitor passes with my membership on Monday.

Very disappointed in the system but at least I'm still gonna be there Friday night!

Ok ... now we are getting some where.

"This is the problem I have.. I should've been able to buy premium seats with visitor passes with my membership on Monday."

Do you think its possible the AFL might not like this idea ... because sadly it could be open for manipulation?

However, I hear your frustration. I know the AFL read forums like this to garnish feedback.

Do you really think the AFL give a hoot. ( toned down ) Its bums on seats & the Grand Final tickets will get harder to get. They are giving them away on the radio right now. People who listen to RADIO get preference over CLUB MEMBERS. Grand Final tickets are a scheme of making money for clubs & the AFL. They are promotional gimmicks & are not to be confused with entry to the game by SUPPORTERS. The recent tirade by the AFL to take the game away from the MCG showed just how miserable these officials are. Its a Victorian game played by Victorians & watched by wealthy interstate tourists
