Good Call.

Premiers in 2008, you wouldn't expect the Hawks to fall away so badly. They had a great run at the end of 2008 and the momentum continued all the way through September of that year. I think they are still a strong side but they need other avenues to goal. In their premiership season they had Franklin kick 100 and Roughead kick 70 odd. Can't happen every season.

There goal at the start off the year was definately top 4 and a massive chance for the grand final. Based on that their year was a failure.

Also I don't think their list is as good as people think. Top end they are ok but their middle players don't seem to be coming on - your Mustons Your Dowlers and there is quite a few more.

Also they have to be right up there with St Kilda as failures with their trading.
The decision to trade Kennedy and McGlynn have proven to be shockers!!!

There is enough talent on that list to be top four. Unfortunately attitude lets them down far too often.
I still believe we desperately need an outside midfielder, and a KP backman would be handy.
As far as I know McGlynn and Kennedy asked to be traded as they would get more opportunity elsewhere. I think McGlynn has played out of his skin this year, and I'm not sure he will back it up next year. As for Kennedy, although I thought he could be a player of the future, we had too many of this type of player at the Hawks.
Having said all that, these 2 players are even more evidence of how good a coach Roosey is, as he continually gets the best out of his players.

Bad call. Leave out the first 5 games & they were as good as anyone. Burgoyne added bite and Gibson improved . Rucks let them down. Their performance was better than others outside the top three except for FREO.
If Saints dont win the flag after last year then are they a failure? If Geelong dont make the Grand Final then they are a failure ? If Collingwood dont win the Grand Final then 300 billion chinese dont give a damn. Does that make them failures? NO. Because they treasure all those " runner up Cups " they have won. Therefore the only winners are Collingwood supporters.
