Have had some major personel turnovers already due to advice from others and still am unhappy with my side.

I now currently have:

B: McPhee, Hunter, Raines, Birchall, Waters, Solomon, Kosi [Miller, Ellis]
C: Kerr, Tuck, Schammer, Griffen, Lappin, Houli [Gibbs, Selwood]
R: Cox, Simmonds [Hudson, Darcy]
F: Hall, Embley, Abblett, Pettifer, Monfries, Brown, Thomas [Davey, Jetta]
Remaining Salary Cap = $401,500

I think all 8 emergencies will play early and earn price hikes. My backs are a pretty cheap bunch but all players are likely to get midfield/forward exposure to help bolster stats. My midfield looks better than previously but I still feel a bit light on compared to others I have seen. My rucks are the most solid aspect of my lineup and i'm happy with the 4 of them. I like Hall, Embley, Monfries and Davey on the bench up forward yet am taking somewhat of a gamble on others being able to reproduce best form or play enough football.

because I have a few youngsters in that I will no doubt have to upgrade after round 1 teams are announced

Since posting I have found out Schammer is gone til round 4-5ish, Simmonds is under an injury cloud, Pettifer is out of sorts. I made some changes to adjust to these facts and came up with:

B: McPhee, Milburn, Raines, Birchall, Waters, Solomon, Kosi [Miller, Ellis]
C: Judd, Sherman, Murphy, Griffen, Lappin, Houli [Gibbs, Selwood]
R: Cox, Sandilands [Hudson, McDonald]
F: Hall, Embley, Pavlich, Rocca, Monfries, Brown, Thomas [Davey, Hansen]

Advice wanted on some of these possible combinations please!

Milburn/Welsh or J.Bowden/Waters?

Cousins/Moloney or Kerr/Houlihan

Jon Brown/Murphy or Judd/Rocca

1) Tough call. The Bowden pricetag seems excessive, but he will always get the job done. I am in 2 minds about the Waters CD ability, so i think i'd play it safe with Milburn/Welsh.
2) Moloney does not appear be 100% for rd1, so got to be Kerr/Houlihan
3) i really don't like either combo, but Marc Murphy seems like the smartest choice from the 4 players involved. Perhaps a safer option than J.Brown (eg.B.Johnson) will serve you better in the long run.

I noticed you own Miller, A.Hansen, Hudson, McDonald all in your reserves. Too much in my book, especially with the hot young talent available in the min wagers. Try to keep the money on the pitch. I think Hudson is the only one that really needs to stay (because those min. wage rucks are useless).

OK I have readjusted my team. I decided to take Tippaz advice and give Judd and Brown a miss to start with. I got a couple of guys off my bench but then added another for a top tip i got!

B: Milburn, Welsh, Carrazzo, Raines, Birchall, Solly, Kosi [Ellis. S.Hunt]
C: Cousins, Griffen, K.Johnson, Kelly, N.Lappin, Gibbs [Houli, Selwood]
R: Cox, Sandi [Darcy, Hudson]
F: Hall (C), Pav, Embley, Lovett, Monfries, Davey, Brown [T.Cloke, Davey]

Have gone for 2 bigmarking forwards and pumped in small forwards who will rn around in the middle. Took Darcy and Hudson as I have a plan I wish not to divulge. Found a few experienced but cheap midfielders in Lappin, Kelly and Johnson. Put Cousins in for gauranteed strength and am relying partially on youth. My backs look the best they have but look to be my potential achilles heel!
