There's plenty wrong with this team.

First of all, while you don't want a lot of money sitting on the bench, you do want players that will be getting a game so their prices will rise and you can trade them later. 6 of your 8 on the bench are on rookie lists!!!

Merrett - Would need to make a HUGE improvement to score even moderately.

Bizzell - While his pre-season form has been OK, he couldn't get a game in the seniors at all last year.

Dempster - 15 games last year at an average of 37.1 SC points!!!

Selwood - Which one?

Jolly - You do realise that Everitt will be the #1 ruck at Sydney this year, don't you?

Johns - Inconsistent and will have even less opportunities this year with Lloyd back in the goal square.

You're relying far too much on too many players to greatly improve on last year. In your starting 22 you have 11 players that averaged 66 or less last year (and 6 of those averaged 50 or less).

You really need a lot more balance in the team. Get rid of a couple of those super high priced players and use the cash to upgrade half a dozen or more of the low stats players.

Yep I agree on everything but Jolly, I'd say Everitt be more in the forward line then the ruck as we'd be trying to get a few years out of him before he retires.

But ill see through the year, i bet ya half the teams everyone else is bragging about will die before round 5 as you know how footy is..

I reckon Everitt will spend a lot more time in the ruck than Jolly, but even if you're correct, Jolly only averaged 66 as #1 ruckman last year.

by the looks of things, i take it you don't really know what you're doing.
apparently, you've actually managed to grab some great picks.
i'd say 8 out of your top 9 'most expensive' players tend to get the job done every year.
your reserves are awful though, and most of your middle/lower tier players just won't get the points.
you should read through my 'hot prospects' thread for some good tips, and check out the 'starting lineups' thread to see if your reserves will be getting a regular game.

Starting with Judd, Goodes and West is crazy given the value in the 200-400K range Plugger. I would reccomend trading atleast one of these and fixing your bench players up.

Trade Jon Brown for Pavlich or someone similar and use the money to upgrade Johns and Nathan Ablett.

Trade Bowden or Mcleod for someone around the 400K mark and use that money to upgrade Bizzell, Merrett and Dempster!
