OMG - it's back, and i didn't even know

Chad Cornes still in the backs... wtf
Giansiracusa in the forwards... cool

are you sure about Daniel Kerr. he's done his hammy, and would be in some doubt for rd1. also, i don't like his tribunal history. can't see him playing 22 games. it'll be more like 18-20 games.

Was happy to see Gia as a forward to and also surprised C.Cornes is still classified as a back.

As for Kerr not sure about him or any other. If he doesn't play last round of NAB challenge I defintely won't have him. I reckon Woosha has had a word t him about his on-field shenanigans and let him know he is the man now Judd and Cousins have gone, and expect him to respond so he was my early pickup for top range mid. With his price I can change him for anyone else like a K.Cornes/Dal Santo type prior to season when all is revealed.

Would be keen to get some tips on a new strategy i've considered employing this year. I have just done a re-draft where by I picked my rucks first. Don't want to give to much away but i got Cox-Simmonds/Wood-Hampson. I then drafted my midfield and limited myself to players below $400,000. This left me with nearly $7,000,000 to buy my backs and forwards. I have 4 forwars over $400,000 with Chapman my only one over $500,000. In my backs I got the 2 most expensive (and reliable) defenders in C.Cornes and Bowden, and another 3 over $400,000 plus Lovett-Murray.

I figured given the abundance of talent in the midfield ready to explode onto the fantasy footy scene including a couple of proven elder statesmen returning from injury there is ample opportunity to grab the Bartels and K.Cornes when they hit a bad couple of weeks.

Sound smart or stoopid?

As with the majority of you my team has had alot of in's and out's over the pre-season but I think of nearly settled on my squad.

Backs:
C.Cornes
J.Bowden
H.Shaw
J.King
N.Lovett-Murray
R.Petterd*
Pfeifer

Bench:
L.Hansen
H.Taylor

Centres:
Dal Santo (C) (Sorry Tippaz blatant steal)
N.Jones
B.Reilly
R.Crowley*
N.Stevens
T.Tuck

Bench:
B.Houli
R.Palmer

Rucks:
Cox
Gilmore*

Bench:
Leunberger*
Hampson

Forwards:
J.Brown (VC)
L.Franklin
B.Hall
D.Thomas
W.Tredrea*
A.Edwards
N.Krakeour

Bench:
C.Rioli
K.Reimers

Not 100% on Petterd, think he's a 75-80ppg player when fit however coming off last seasons freak injury he may be down on fitness and not sure if others are ahead of him. He has played 2 NAB matches so me be in consideration for round 1. If not i have X.Ellis on standby who's a certainty with Hawthorns early suspensions.

R.Crowley has huge potential but between him and Peake i've been burnt 3 consecutive years now. He had a big game 3 in the NAB cup and Freak-O claims he's been given the role of roaming half-back. Not sure on him yet.

Gilmore and Leunberger are tricky atm. Gilmore is a lock for ruck if he plays and given he's played all 3 NAB games to date he's in the running. However Sandilands and Warnock scare me a bit about him being 3rd in line when the real deal starts which brings me to my dilemma with Berger. He's to dear for a bench player and Kreuzer would net me an extra 60K, however if my worries over Gilmore are confirmed He will be needed as a starter a role Hampson can't fill and a trade I won't have to make. Might go for a Kreuzer/Fraser combo?

Also have considered employing Simmonds as a cash cow Even though I said Berger was to dear. Guys like Hampson are probably going to get to around 150-200K max meaning a 100K rise, with Simmonds theres the potential for 200-300K in rise plus a proven starter should one of your others underperform/get injured.

Tredrea has been a good thing in the past and has looked good with little TOG so far in his 2 NAB appearances. Everyone has gone with Porpz due to his new midfield role meaning if my Tredder's move backfires im well behind the pack. However i'm not sold on Craig's pre-season ploy with McLeod, Goodwin and Edwards spending large chunks forward and am hoping Porpz goes back to his forward line role. If this happens and Tredder fires i'm above the pack, If neither improve dramatically i'm 3 ppg down and 14K up.

Still have $57,600 to play with.

Crowley is a smokey who could step up in the absense of Haselby. but there are probably safer picks going round.
i don't see Gilmore as a starting player. i favour Sandi/Warnock for the ruck.

Thanx for the advice Tippaz

Took out Hansen and Petterd for Ellis and Symes

Crowley for Boak

Hampson/Berger/Gilmore for Simmonds/Gardiner/Kreuzer

Krakeour/Reimers for Hill(WB)/Tippett.

gamble from geelong is lookin pretty good and cheap. kicked 8 goals over 2 games in the nab cup i believe? is stokes injured? could fill his role if he is. gilmore is a steal i reckon, he's trying to cement a position in the team away from the ruck but can still contest ruck contests around the ground, he's got an unbelievable leap and a pretty big motor

Isn't Gamble rookie listed? If so I think he's limited to 5 games even if some-ones on the LTI. Also Geelong have a pretty settled forward line with senior blokes likely to play ahead of him.
