Default bu5t3r2 supercoach team... advice pls

hey all !!

this is my team currently, which i believe will change at least 100 more times before rd 1 starts... lol

back : cornes, gilbee, shaw, symes, bradshaw, nicoski, proud (pffeifer, myers)
mid : corey, hayes, cooney, stevens, houli, palmer (bird, ebert)
ruck : cox, simmonds (kreuzer, meesen)
fwd : pav, brown, chapman, johnson, hall, porpz, rioli (tippet, hansen)

im pretty happy with the overall structure... but think i might need to get another premium mid... but who should i downgrade ??

is it too risky having bradshaw, stevens, and simmonds ???

Team looks solid. Bradshaw is possibly a bit risky, but I don't reckon Simmonds and Stevens are that big a risk given they've played most pre-season games and most people will be getting them.

I don't think you need another premium mid, there's so much value in the midfield compared to other positions, so make the most of it - I've only got the 1 premium in Dal Santo ATM (the rest are value gets) - although Stevens and Coughlan are proven topliners of the past.

coughlan is really 50/50 for me... i really want to get him, but i think, ill risk 1 trade (before rd 3) just for him... if he gets through 3 rds ok and get decent scores, ill get him... hasnt proved anything with just 1 preseason game...

or else he's my back up plan if stevens neck problem turns out to be more serious than just a niggle...

who should i get for bradshaw ?? dont really wanna take another rookie with nicoski n proud/pfeiffer/myers already starting for me...

unless if i downgrade chapman to lucas... then i might have $$ to upgrade bradshaw to someone around 400k...

I'm not 100% on Coughlan either, but there's so many alternatives in the midfield, it isn't such a big deal.

Bradshaw's got a proven record in SC, but I just get the feeling he's a bit underdone and the KPPs tend to come on a bit slower after knee re-constructions i.e. Tredrea last yr. I'd go with your gut feeling (he could turn out to be the buy of the season), but if you decide against Bradshaw/he doesn't pull up for the first game, I'd look at: E.Barlow, X.Ellis, J.Graham, T.Williams (all cheaper). If you downgrade Chapman and get ~400K, your options open up to guys like: Chaplin (if named for the first round), S.Gilbert, J.Gibson and S.Hurn.

I'm not getting Coughlan. Not even a consideration at this stage.
Leaning towards not picking Bradshaw too.

I'd probably look at upgrading Bradshaw to a gun defender and downgrading Cox to someone like Wood who's pretty much guaranteed to make you some $$ and takes the Bradshaw risk out of the equation.

Cornes, Corey, Hayes, Brown, Pav, Chappy, BJ and even Cooney andpossibly Shaw and Gilbee give you planty of captaincy options so you wouldn't really miss Cox too much.

Only recomendation I have is to downgrade 1 of your big 4 forwards and spend the cash on upgrading one of your 3 rookie mids. With Houli already in the squad any injury leaves you playing him and 2 rookies which isn't ideal IMO. Don't need a massive upgrade just someone like Griffen/Gibbs/Boak (about 330-340K) Dyson is another option at 260K however may be more suited to DT given his disposal can be erratic.

thx tippaz...

btw, ive decided to take kreuzer and hampson on my ruck bench... i really think come rd 10 or 11, hampson would play more games than meesen...

and if i downgrade 1 forward, it almost gonna be chapman... his lack of preseason games is really my only reason...
hopefully i can get enough money to upgrade bradshaw...

oh and 1 more thing, what do u guys think about johnstone ??
new club... 3rd, 4th, or even 5th to be tagged --> which means no tag with black, power, lappin, n ad****...

Not sold on the idea of Johnstone, may have no tag to worry about but will have a fight on his hands to get the ball. Could be great value if he gets the loose man in defence role which I feel he may.
