Round 1
Chad Cornes 68 (354K) for McPhee 112 (308K) = +46K + 9k (Bank) = 55K

Cornes will have to average 101 for the next two weeks to remain @ 354k

McPhee will have to average 62 for the next two weeks to remain @ 308k

Most likely scenario is McPhee will raise in value more than Cornes hence my overall points gained by the trade is higher.

Round 2
Selwood (96k) for Rodan (126K) = (30K) = 25K (Bank)

Young Gun for High Scoring Young Gun.

What do you guys think?

This is a good point but the top scenario becomes irrelevant for a player like cornes. You dont want him because he will rise in value, you want him bc he scores 90+ often.

The Selwood Rodan thing is good bc after round 5 or 6 they are gone so you can have money in the bank.

My point is the money you gain in the mcphee thing you will probably use to buy cornes back later bc he will be one of the best 7 backs at years end. Just a waste of 2 trades to end up with the same player

Diceman,

I think you're making a HUGE MISTAKE thinking Jonathon Brown is a must-trade.

The aim of the game is to score points, not make money. Jonathon Brown is a star. As long as he plays, he will score the points. The early price-drop doesn't effect his pointscoring ability in any way. Now that you own him, you're just going to have to stick with him.

Also, you shouldn't really delve into last year's averages. New year, new set of averages! Every player will change in some way. There are always a handful who explode (look at Goddard last year). And some will implode (just look at Kosi). Jonathon Brown averaged 140 in CD last year. He struggle to get near it again, but i'm sure he'll be 100+. Why get rid of him when he's not injured? You'll end up blowing all your trades on your best players without ever making any real improvements to your starting 22. Be patient. Try to direct your trades towards star players (like Brad Johnson) without shipping out your good players (like Jonathon Brown).

nah see the JB Johno trade is a must, i will get JB back, but later. The whole point to having him from the start was it gave me flexibility. I could A) keep him if he played up to or close to 140ppg, or B) trade him for the highest scoring FWD in the game after rnd two or three, save my self a bundle, and be guaranteed money in the bank after rnd 3 to pick up judd/dalsanto/goodes/goodwin/ball/hasleby when they drop in price, and if i sell ball before then, pick up rodan, before then, sell him some time after, I will havbe an absolute gun midfield with the likes of two of the above, plus kerr, (throw in rischitelli/griffen as i have both, oh and a bloke called lappin, going to be some tough choices perhaps, or i could just keep who i got, but i want at least one of the above.
AND, i will have gun fwds in Hall pav, ablett(G) Johnson, etc, and my backs will be looking sweet... all for maybe 5 trades outa 20.

Gives me 15 trades, ten for injuries, 6 for the injuries in the last 3 weeks, and the 5 to trade off gun kids mid year. I think i'm sitting alright meself
