Default Mathew Kreuzer

Just got through watching the game and unfortunately didn't like what I saw. I thought Kreuzer would be a shoe-in for my rucks bench but his team-mate Hampson looks likely to take his place. He played predominantly as a CHF and took 15 minutes to get a touch. He did kick a nice goal but has alot to learn about the game at this level. He doesn't appear to lead and if he was leading it was never to the right spots. He's a bit sluggish and I doubt he will get more than half a dozen games with minimal ruck time when he does.

well, Brad Fisher has an 8 week injury (broken thumb) which means he'll miss 4 games.

and Carlton don't really have any other logical replacement at CHF. so it looks like Kreuzer is stuck in the team.
Brett Ratten has already stated he wants Jarrod Waite to have a full year at CHB.
and the preferred ruck combo is looking like Hampson/Cloke at this stage.
tall players often take a while to get going. but i think he's a safe enough bet.

I reckon Thornton will pick up the CHF spot now Waite's a permanent defender.

yeah. that's a possibility. i noticed he went forward against Port Adel.

i am highly recommending Hampson ahead of Kreuzer now. i believe Hampson will be cheaper than Kreuzer!!

I knew you would come around

However i've since changed my mind on Hampson. Whilst he will definitely be #1 ruck he spells on the pine and if Carlton arent scoring he doesn't get a chance of getting points as they don't use him around the ground. I am leaning now towards a bench of Leunberger (self explanatory ), and Griffin. With Hudson gone and Biglands suffering a season ending injury again I think Griffin will get the #1 job. He will be alot better off for the hitout last year and can get forward instead of pineing for a rest. He also tends to get a few possies in the midfield.

After 2 games you all are jumping off the Kreuzer train.......might not be the right decision

It will all depend on where Rats plays him. If he rucks he has the potential for a solid score if he's CHF I dont think he gets above 30.

That is true but in the ruck is where he should be imo,not CHF.

Mine to. They claim they don't want to rush him into AFL footy so they are playing him at CHF yet according to 90% of players that's the toughest position on the ground physically.

Might just have to wait the first 2 rounds, and trade into him if he is going to be worthwhile. Personally I think he could do ok, as he has a huge aerobic capacity for a big guy...as a leading CHF pushing up the ground, it will take a pretty fit CHF to stay with him.
