Are the aussies on the ropes?

Well, they are not looking too flash at this stage and I am sure that they would be more than a little concerned at their last 5 efforts, not necessarily with the bat, but more importantly with the ball.

I can not recall the last time that the aussies have had over 300 hit against them with more regularity than we have seen this summer.

The aussies will get Ponting and Gilchrist back, but they are not bowlers.

We will have to rely on someone stepping up to take some wickets and at the same time be economical in doing so. I am not sure that we have the person in our squad currently that is capable of doing what is required.

Stuart Clark could possibly help with this, but at this time he is not part of our squad.

Only time will tell, but it is not looking promising to retain this trophy.

Anyone see the article on "Death Bowling" by Cricinfo? Clark has bowled 141 "death balls" and has the second worst economy in the last Ten overs - thats without going to NZ! (This is since the start of 2006). So clearly he can't help. He's great with the red, absolutely **** with the white. Even at domestic level.

Not likely to be a bluff. We wouldn't want to lose to NZ or England under ANY circumstances.

Injuries, retirements, poor form.

We still have a great batting side when we're in form and our bowling should still be competitive but the bowling is bringing us back closer to the pack.

Yer i reckon clarke is a rubbish one day bowler, hes only got one trick, line and length, its too easy in one dayers to play unorthidox shots to knock him off his line and get runs. Richard hadlee was all line and length and dean jones used to just charge him and play unorthidox and hadlee had no comeback....now that more players play like deano, theres less room for L+L.....its all about changes of pace now i spose. (mcgrath was one out of the box)

With the red ball ill take clarke for sure!

hope he proves me wrong!
