G'day!
Takoyaki here. Well erm... here's a lil bit about maself.

I'm a total noob in the footy world. Came to Melb 5 yrs ago but just couldn't care less abt footy so I didn't really know wat it's all about apart from the occasional/"accidental" viewing on tv. After getting to know footy lately and went to a match at the dome a week ago, I now realized how much I've been missing out!!!


I heard about a few teams a few yrs ago like bombers, magpies, blues, saints, but have always had a feeling that I'm gonna barrack for the blues. Mainly becuz they have the same nick as the English Premier League Club I have been supporting for more than 10 yrs (Yep, u're right. Chelsea it is) and also becuz when I first came to Melb I resided in Carlton. Maybe that's not the trend in footy to support the local club (or is it?), I've always been wanting to support a local club. I was at one point thinking of supporting the bombers since most of my frens who are into footy support them but after I realized they have business ties with Man Utd of the EPL... nah~ I'm nvr gonna have anything to do with the red devils though I respect their skill and professionalism.

Aight, enough babbling about myself. Here are a few questions for the start:

1.) What's the difference between home and away matches here? It's unlike other sports where one team has a stadium to their own. What are the main differences when the same team play in Telstra Dome as Home/Away?

2.) I've seen long sleeve guernsey but not that often. Is it only for specific player in a team? or is it just like the short sleeves ones, anyone can wear it?

3.) Ticketing... I find this very confusing. I know that if u become an afl/club member u can have reserve seat and also free general admission to certain numbers of games. I bought my tickets on ticketmaster and normally it's allocated seat. My question is do u get allocated seat if u buy a general admission ticket? Can I choose more specifically where to sit? When I bought on ticketmaster/ticketek I dun really have much option to specify where I want to sit. I've heard ppl with club membership just scan their card at the turnstile to get to the general admission area. Would they know where in the general admission area they are sitting?
