Not really

The G is where AFL belongs, to play it somewhere else would be demeaning to the game itself (as anyone who's been to a GF at the G will tell you)

Besides, where else would you have it? The G is the biggest and the best for this

Hardly. Its played there simply because of its capacity. That is the main reason. The other is that the AFL is run by a victorian and they still treat interstate teams as intruders into their competition. The MCG is what its name suggest. A Cricket ground. The first game played there was cricket.

so where would you suggest then???

subiaco/telstra dome....hard surfaces, injuries
scg..... ground size too small
football park..always windswept, stand dosen't shelter the elements
gabba....decent surface and stands, would be a good option if it wasn't in the heartland of league.
That leaves the mcg a ground with a huge capacity, fair surface, and for me the perfect size for afl plus its where the gf has been played for over 100 years...seems like the only option to me

Football Park is always windswept eh? Never been there have you? What a stupid response that was.

There will be options in the future, simple as that.

why is it every time i watch a game from adelaide there is either a 6 goal breeze or horizontal rain...or both. Either that or its 45 degrees and everyone needs to wear ice vests and sit in front of fans.

there may well be options in the future but until any option can have a capacity of at least 90000..it has to be the mcg...

its the biggest game of the year, everyone wants a ticket, why would you have it at a place that has only 45 000 tickets to sell?.........thats only about the membership base of one competing club.....forgetting corporates and hangers on.......ect ect
