just a final bit on your home ground advantage thing....

heres just 2 teams to analyse...

Freo have 12 games at subiaco -1 which is against wc and you have 11 home ground advantage games and 10 away games.

Ess have 4 interstate away games, and 18 melbourne games, of which 14 are against sides who share the same home ground, negating your home ground advantage. Which means we have 4 home ground advantage games and 18 non advantage games by your rules.

11 home ground advantage vs 4 home ground advantage....

it dosent take a civil engineer to work out its not level.

so if you were able to use this massive piece of advantage, which most interstate sides should,(freo pending) ,that will give you a finals berth, probably top 4, giving you another home final, while the vic sides scramble for the remaining spots after having played throughout the year with less home ground advantage games, then if we don't have to play away, have to play against a side on a neutral home ground.

so then you want to tip the scales further by having the gf after you have had a massave % more home ground advantages than the vics all year?

is it such a pain to have to come to the ground that has been home of aussie rules for the past 150 years?, after all those advantages throughout the year? the mcg is built like a collessium, built for gladiators to fight out the biggest and best game of the year infront of the biggest crowd, the history alone of past gf's and past moments should make it more neutral on gf day.
If Essendon however were to play WCE/Freo/whatever in a Final at the MCG, but the interstate team finished top, then the MCG is a definite home ground advantage to Essendon, or cant you work that out in your tiny brain already?

It might not take a civil engineer to work out that Ess has alot more home games than Freo, because they dont have to travel out of their home state to play them.....and to say that Ess are at a disadvantage is just TYPICAL Victorian ****.
Freo fly out every second week but 1-2 maybe and the bombers have to fly out of their state 4 times...wow thats just not right, lets leave them in Melbourne to play all of their games and maybe the scales will be tiped in their favour.....wtf?.
Its part and parcell of the interstate teams(S.A-W.A-NSW-QLD) to fly out because thats the agreement they made to join the AFL comp and they dont complain but like most Vic sides they still feel that they are at a disadvantage????.NOT.

HARDEN THE **** UP DONZFC.....

The tribute match was a ****ing discrace.

I cant believe we wasted a round of footy fot that garbage. Worst pre game entertainment ever, they should have just spent the 10,000,000 on Freo to get them a player or 2 because they are rubbish as well.

Brades YOU ARE A LITTLE SOOK shut the **** up u winging homo!

PS. The new cameras were about as good as Freo in the secong half against Melbourne. Hey Brades see FEV... Champion huh!!! Tore your heart and soul out.

All stars still cant beat Victoria! What else do you want you useless *****s.

How the AFL didnt have 1 spot reserved for a player from each team is beyond me. Brades shut up, your posts are terrible.

i didnt state the victorians were at a disadvantage, i was not turning this into any us vs them argument, all this was about was where a home ground advantage comes from! i asked was it from the louder fans?, he said not, its more about ground size and conditions........so if you had have read the argument i said if 2 victorian teams share the same home ground, when they play each other they have no home ground advantage! like wc vs freo, its nullified....vic teams have that most weeks.

as you said, you wanted into the league, meaning the flying is part and parcel of that

jas929406 would you rather have 12 games a year where you have 45000 of your own screaming fans cheering you on and none from the opposition?--but have to fly to another state every other week.

or

stay in your own state most weeks but have support from only 50% of the crowd most weeks?

dont under estimate the power of a full house all supporting one team

Thankful that I'm making at least slightly logical discussion yet?

I don't care what you say, the Geelong Advertiser is a mighty fine publication for Geelong supporters and bandwagoners alike

The following are pure gold:
Zero Punctuation, Family Guy, Mighty Boosh, Black Books, RATM, QOTSA, Buckethead, Werder Bremen and the Cats

Unfortunately you are unable to think on a high level of logic, just like the AFL.
The problem is , that sponsors, corporates etc will always be allocated tickets, so holding the biggest game of the year at a lower capacity stadium just means more supporters will miss out, and at a stadium which only holds 45000, **** all tickets will be left for supporters. So you didn't exactly show much logic either, did you?
Since the WCE and Bears came into the league in 87, Victorian teams have played interstate teams 10 times in the GF, with the interstate teams winning 7, which proves on GF day the ground is not an advantage

Default Good Game

it was a very entertaining game, few things i was happy to see
Simmonds and Foley play very well for the vics. Especially Foley he was a gun and he goal was great.
Richo not doing to much, im a huge Richo Man fan but i was glad he had a bit of an off game just means he is gonna play well this week.
11 Geelong players playing to 3 Tigers gives us a slim 1% chance of winning this week
Boomer Harvey was great thought he would have been close to BOG with 23 touches and 3 goals and crucial moments.

Im a west aussie that goes for vic side so i was split here, but happy the V won they remain the leaders of footy.

And another reason why the GF will never be played out side the MCG is because the fans always turn up to it. Sydney/Westcoast had big crowds and they need capacity

Oh and if Richmond lose this week it will be the first time i have seen them lose at the G when ive been there.
I have gone almost once a year since 97 and won every game i have watched.

I'm glad you thought Boomer played well mate, so did I

It'll be very tough for the tigers against Geelong. I think it will be a close..ish game but I think you may be leaving the MCG dissapointed for the first time ever. Oh well you know what they say..... There is a first time for everything.

I actually had a good streak going with the roo's for a while. The first 3 times I saw them at Subi they won. The last 2 they haven't. I would have loved to be at the game against Fremantle last season, when they won an absolute thriller and from memory boomer was B.O.G. But I couldn't make it.

I hope the tigers go well for you though
