Hi I found an old VFL trophy in my Dads garage. It's a yellow Sherrin mounted on a wooden base,it has a gold plaque inscribed The Sun ALL STARS 1977.
I've tried to find out about it but had no luck. Does anyone know anything about it? or where I can find out

I'm guessing your no longer around here but for anyone who's interested/knows more I found something on Wikipedia saying how a VFL side beat West Australia in somewhat of a state of origin game about 1 month before Western Australia got their first ever win over Victoria in Origin.

The AFL back in 77 had yet to become the AFL and still ran under the VFL banner so i'm assuming thats the rep side your dad has the trophy from but can't be 100% sure as it only stated VFL and found nothing on the Sun All Stars but if it is anything to do with Aussie Rules VFL i'd say thats it.
