Glossary

Home or Away Team

The Home and Away teams are fairly obvious, except when joint tenants are playing. In these cases, the official home side according to the AFL will be used. Note that on all official AFL fixtures, the nominal home team is listed first.

% Estimates

The percentages (%) provided will be my calculated estimates of  the odds that each team should command in percentage terms. It's important to note two things here:

1/ Closeness in my estimated percentages between two teams will not necessarily translate to a close result in actual points score. The percentages should be seen as a guide to seeking value.  I could write a book on this point but have refrained due to simplicity!

2/ All percentages total 99%, rounded off. This assumes the percentage of draws (rounded off) is approximately 1%. (see odds converter)

Banker

This is not a mathematically exacting gauge, more of a tick-test margin related guide. If you must margin bet, then use this sparingly.

Good Luck
